One Step closer to getting HITCHED

Less than an hour after becoming engaged(9-18-10 8:30 p.m.), we are two of the happiest people in Sioux County North Dakota. We spent most of the day hauling bales, but ended it with a big bang. I have never had a doubt in my mind that Rebecca was the ONE, but have always prayed that she would think that I am the One as well. Thankfully she must, because she said YES and took the ring. We aren't sure yet when we will get married but I am extremely excited for that next step in our relationship.
The Sparkling Ring!
Rebecca's superintendent's mother lived in Morristown.
I had never seen Sitting Bulls Grave, so we made the four mile detour close to Mobridge and took in the beutiful view of the Missouri River.

Last Sunday

We started off the day by going to church. I was the organist at our church this last Sunday....something I do one or two times a month. It's fun to play and it's a good chance to use all of my piano music that I have. I like to play the piano before and after the service for pre and postlude music.
After church, we went out to eat at a new restaurant in Watertown--The Italian Garden--but I forgot to capture the moment with a picture....Following dinner we went on to Huron, SD for the State Fair. The summer is not complete without the state fair!

We went on the Ferris Wheel and this is a picture from the top! We also looked at all of the animals, went through the vendor building and ate some fair food.

Corn Chopping Days

Chopping Corn on the Paul Dummann farm. I had the pleasure of hauling the chopped corn in with this chevy truck. It was very enjoyable especially with Rebecca riding along many trips so we could visit. She never came without some freshly made cookies or a meal.

Soul Mates!!!

Ashley ran the chopper, Paul packed the pile, and Kayla helped with lunch.

Brown County Fair 2010

A couple of weeks ago, Andrew and I went to the Brown County Fair in Aberdeen, SD. When I was in college, I used to always go and walk around and look at exhibits. My brother George and I would always take in a concert or two. This year, Andrew and I went and met my brother George there. George has been going to all of the fairs with his Right to Life booth.

There was a "village" of old places to walk around and look through. A funeral parlor, old country school, general store, etc...were a few of the things to see.
Above: Andrew at the harness shop
At the country school....pretending to be the teacher! This school is similar to where I teach at now---out in the country and multiple grades.

Andrew in the sod house....Andrew likes the simple things like me, so this was a dream come true for him to see a sod house...kinda like the places they lived in the "old days!"

After looking around all day, we ended the day by going to the concert that night. The concert was Joe Diffie and Clay Walker. This picture is of my oldest brother George and Andrew.
