 Abraham is seven months old now and sitting up and can get around everywhere...gets himself backed into corners and under chairs. :)

Advent Fun

This year for Advent we are doing "The Star from Afar."  It comes with a wooden kid-friendly manger scene and a book to read. Each day (or night) the wooden star is hidden and Ruthanna brings the three wisemen to the star. The next morning the wisemen remain in their spot, but the star is hidden someplace else. Ruthanna gets the wisemen and goes looking for the star and then places them where she finds the star.  On Christmas the star should be over the stable...leading the wisemen to the stable.

Horse Mowing

We hosted a horse mowing day at our farm a couple of weeks ago...we had six teams mowing. We mowed about thirty acres during the course of the day.

Making Pies

We made some peach pies with all of our peaches a few days ago- Ruthanna's favorite part was being able to roll the pie crust out. 

She was determined to do it herself!

Freezing Beans

Ruthanna loved learning how to cut beans the other night...then she was interested in learning how to freeze them.  She was quite the helper-- staying there from the beginning of the process to the end.

A few ice cubes that were used to cool down the beans even made it into the bag!

Play-doh people

Ruthanna and her grandma Larson made play-doh people a couple weeks ago... Ruthanna was eager to show them to me and to her little brother.

Hannah's visit



On the way back from the wedding Hannah, 3 of her kids, and Madelyn came and spent the night with us. The kids had fun seeing each other again. Ayden and Riley wanted to hold the baby a lot- they were even willing to do it al by themself!
