Key West Part 2

While at Key West, we stayed at a Bed and Breakfast. Here I am at breakfast that morning.

 Out in the little courtyard
There was a nice hammock that you could lay in....

Key West Part 1....

We went to Key West, FL over the weekend.  Our first stop was the Everglades. We drove in a little ways and went on a one mile walking path.  We could hear some growling in the bushes and looked a little bit and saw a big alligator.

We stopped at a big fruit stand where we bought some peaches for the drive down.  They also had a shake stand, so we bought a big strawberry smoothie.
When we got there, we got lunch and then walked around before going back to our Bed and Breakfast to relax.  That night we went on an open glass sunset cruise.
They stopped when we got out by the corral reef and talked about it.  It was fun seeing it up close in our glass bottom boat.
We were coming back just as the sun was starting to set.
This was a boat that was going out as we were coming in.  The sunset makes the picture look like something out of a book.
A beautiful sunset as we were coming back.

Entertainment at the Resort...

While we are here staying, there are things to do in the evenings. There are pools to swim in, you can check out bikes, tennis rackets, or play pool....We have been doing something every night.

Trying our hand at playing pool..it was definitely a learning experience for me!

This was taken in one of the little parks where you can walk around outside

In one of the rooms near the dining hall

We played racket ball one night--- a little bit of a workout for me!  But it was fun

Our stay in Florida....

While we stay in Florida, we are equipped with a little house to stay in. Andrew is taking a two week welding class and they accommodate everyone with a place to stay.  The rooms and houses vary in size--- some all the way to 3 bedrooms with a washer and dryer right in them.  This house is usually given to married couples and people with a baby or young child...so I guess we qualify: we are married and have a baby, just not born yet!

When you walk in, you come into the kitchen area
Off of the kitchen is the living room. There's a leather couch, chair and TV to watch.
 The bathroom
And the bedroom is by the bathroom...a queen size bed along with a closet, dresser and other drawers to accommodate for your stay.

1 year of bliss!

Yesterday was our anniversary.....We are celebrating our first anniversary with a two week vacation in Florida.  Andrew is taking a welding class for his shipping. Family is welcome to come along, so I got to join on the two week trip. The class is on the AMO headquarters, which is on a resort. We get to stay in a cottage for the time we are here.  It looks like the class will be from 7:30 am- 3 pm, so we'll have time to do things in the evening.
We took a couple of pictures for our first year anniversary.

End of the school year wrap-up...

The school year has come and gone and it is officially summer.  My co-teacher and I took some pregnancy shots of us at the end of the school year to document our memories of being pregnant together this school year.....On the pictures, she was 35 weeks and I was 27 weeks I think.

Our bellies were getting bigger as the school year went on!
This picture was taken the last day of school-- it was my last day of teaching.  In some ways it's kind of sad. I taught here for three years and really got to know the students and their families good.  I got to know my textbooks good and had a system down.  And, my two co-workers and I got along good and really had a good bond.  But, the best is yet to come with our new little one coming in August.
My teaching team, which I'll miss dearly.  My co-worker, aide, and I.

Birthday weekend.....

I had my birthday on May 5th. The night before we stayed overnight at a hotel nearby our house.  The next day we went to one of my favorite restaurants for lunch. Then we went and looked at some second hand stores for baby items.

After our morning/afternoon in Watertown, we went to my parents where Andrew worked with my dad around the farm. That night we had a little birthday supper...and my mom made a cake as usual!

One year older!

School....

In second grade last week I was teaching about graphing coordinate points. We first did practice on geoboards with rubber bands. Then I made a cute activity where they had to place a certain color dot on the coordinate points.

We did a day of the week activity to review the order of the days and what day comes after which.

First and second graders were both able to do the activity.  They like the colorful cards and having to write an answer to the cards on another sheet  of paper.

Second graders did a clock matching game for class one day.  I had a bunch of clocks hanging up on the white board. The students had to find the correct clock spelling to match up.  It was another hit.  Students couldn't wait to be called on to go place the match on underneath the clock on the board.

First and second graders learned about base ten blocks.  I made "placemats" for each student with a column for hundreds, tens, and ones and we made our numbers based on that.

The placemat that we used to do our base ten blocks.....
