2 weekends ago....

When I was at my parents house 2 weekends ago, I decided to try out a recipe for supper..it was from a Taste of Home magazine. Anyways, it's a pasta type deal "Family-Favorite Pasta Sauce." I used bow-tie style pasta to add some attraction to it. My parents and I

The parents visit....

Last week, my parents came up for the evening. When they came up, they helped with things around the house---my dad hung some pictures, hung some curtain rods, and fixed a cupboard. My mom helped me get the supper made and washed the dishes. We went and looked at the school where I teach and then came back and worked around the house and ate supper. It was a fun evening having them here.

Butchering

Last weekend, we butched a bull at my parents house. Andrew and I have both butchered animals growing up, so we had a pretty good idea of what to do. It makes for a good day of conversations with your family...we started at 9am and were done by 5pm!

My job was to run the grinder...when I had a lot of meat ground, Andrew started packaging it.

Then, my nephew Ethan came to help. His favorite job is grinding, so he took over!
