Randomness.....

We have been at my parents the last week helping on things around the farm.... Here is a glimpse of what we've been doing.
Putting in the garden was one of the first activities

My dad and Andrew worked on the trimming the hooves on the horses

Opening the wedding gifts

Last week we opened our wedding gifts at my parents house. We got lots of useful things that will be handy when we move into our new place in July.

We got a Terry Redlin wall hanging from some close neighbors and friends.... Andrew and I have both worked with them throughout the years.
A blanket with our names embroidered on it.

Wedding Day! May 14, 2011

Andrew and I were married on May 14, 2011 at the church that I belong to. My brother George had the sermon and the pastor that confirmed me married us. After the wedding, we had cake at the church and then a reception at my family farm.

How beautiful the hands that served
The wine and the bread and the sons of the earth

How beautiful the feet that walked
The long dusty roads and the hill to the cross

How beautiful, how beautiful
How beautiful is the body of Christ
How beautiful the radiant bride
Who waits for her groom with his light in her eyes

How beautiful when humble hearts give
The fruit of pure lives so that others may live
How beautiful, how beautiful
How beautiful is the body of Christ
How beautiful the feet that bring
The sounds of good news and the love of the King
How beautiful the hands that serve
The wine and the bread and the sons of the earth
How beautiful, how beautiful
How beautiful is the body of Christ

Back on Land

Well I am back on land now, but I thought I would tell a bit about the last part of my trip. It seemed like the closer I was to coming home to Rebecca, the slower time went. I was able to see some interesting things from the ship which was nice though.
In the suez canal, egypt.
Our cargo was all ammunition, for the air force and army mainly. I tried not to think about how big of an explosion it would be if it all went off.
I didn't actually see this, but I did see one group of dolphins off our port side. This picture was taken by someone else but that is our bulbous bow and the dolphins just love to play.
My oiler snapped this photo, and that is me on the computer reading my emails over and over. Glad to be back on land and able to communicate face to face with Rebecca and give her lots of hugs and kisses!

Taking a walk

Yesterday, the weather was nice and we decided to take the students on a walk around the colony...This is a group of children that we posing---some of their siblings were around so they got to be on the picture also.
2 of my students and I.
And...a group shot of just about everybody...There are 22 students in the school this year (K-8)...I think there were 2 students gone that day working in the field. This is busy time at the colony for the kids.. besides their regular school work, many help in the field after school or some afternoons.
