The latest happenings...

We finally have nice weather..so at the end of last week Ruthanna and I got the stroller out and started walks around the yard.  Andrew has been re shingling the garage, so we make trips out to see him.

Andrew and Ruthanna-- one of the colder days that we came outside.

Ruthanna on her horse. It usually brings a smile to her face.
I made my first batch of baby wipes last week for Ruthanna.

Welcoming our new Belgian Stallion "Master" to the farm!

DebarAcres Master S64135 out of Orndorffs Captain by Korrys Captain

We didn't make it to the Waverly Horse sale but were fortunate to have a friend bid for us. Our farm is coming together one piece at a time. Amy, Fanny, and Anny will hopefully all have foals next spring if things work out.

He is a great mover and has a wonderful disposition. Standing at stud!

Precious times

Relaxing on the couch last night..enjoying the storm and being together in our cozy house.
Ruthanna can back around anywhere and get from one end of the room to the other. She also has two teeth coming through-- which can be seen when she opens her mouth.
Bathtime last night...she likes to kick back in her tub and read her book and play with her rubber ducks.

Sawing Lumber

My homebuilt sawmill seems like it will be a great asset to our farm. We cut five cotton wood logs so far and got a big pile of lumber. Now we are waiting for the snow to melt so we can get to some more trees.
These large cottonwoods are fun to work with and yield a lot of wood.

The saw mill too a few adjustments at first and there are a few more improvements I am planning on making, but it works!

Some of the lumber cut so far. Also a lot of fire wood came from the tree branches and scabs.

The three of us!

Making Baby Food

Last fall, I received a Baby Bullet at Ruthanna's baby shower.  I didn't know much about it, but read the book that came with it and this winter, I've been using it.  It's quick to use to make things with and you can make enough food for a week.  There are trays that come with it to use to freeze the extra amount that is made.  I usually just make enough for 2 or 3 days though.
Supplies are out and ready to go-- I was making an apple last night.  Apple is peeled.
They say to boil the fruits and veggies to get them a little soft..so the apple is being boiled on the stove for a few minutes.

I put half the apple in at one time and turn the blender on.  Ruthanna loves to watch-- and smiles-- as if she knows that her food is being prepared!  :)

Time to pour it into the containers that it comes with...these are kept in the refrigerator when filled.
Enough apples for 4 or 5 meals
Trying out the finished product

 Happy baby=happy mama!
