This week.....

This week was a busy one in school and at home...we have been starting to wrap up the school year as we have under a month left of actual school time.  In second grade, we've been working on telling time to the minute so I had a fun activity where the kids looked at the cards and then wrote down the corresponding time.

The kids like doing fun activity-like projects where they can do something other than a worksheet every day.  It's nice because it still hits home on what we are learning and reinforces some of the concepts.
This week I'm 24 weeks along in the pregnancy.  Over half way there----right on 23 weeks, I started feeling the baby move, so that's exciting!
And...with Andrew home now, breakfast is the best!  We have a big breakfast that he makes before I go to school and I go off to school feeling very full.  Most days it's either waffles or pancakes and then bacon and eggs to accompany it.

And, one more shot of me from this week of pregnancy

Multiplication in 2nd grade

We started learning about multiplication this week if second grade math.  We worked on arrays all week and then at the end of the week did an "I Spy" array activity. Students had to find the arrays around the school and write the array and correct multiplication sentence by the corresponding letter on their worksheet.

The students like doing "I Spy" games and it's good practice for reviewing the concept that they've been learning.  When they walked into school in the morning and saw the pink cards hanging around they asked if they were the ones that were going to get to play the game.

I made a "My Array" pamphlet. I folded a paper in thirds and there were 5 arrays in it that the students had to fill in.  I copied it off on pink paper and the students were all into it!  It made for something different than the normal-everyday worksheets that they do on a daily basis and it still reviews the concepts we are working on.

Easter weekend

We had Easter at my parents house this year...we had lots of relatives visiting--my moms cousins and aunt from Oregon and Texas and then my dads sister and her husband.  For Easter, it was just my siblings and I. After church, we had the egg hunt.  My dad helped Larissa with hers.

Continuing on in the egg hunt....
Then we had dinner....without Andrew and my oldest brother George, there was still a table-full of us!

After dinner, my nieces and nephew painted eggs. My dad and Marty helped supervise.
Yesterday, my mom and I went into town to see the relatives again...we visited my grandma and great-aunt at the nursing home.  L-R-- Grandma, Irma, and Theresia.
