Old Fashioned Fun

Last Sunday Rebecca and I decided to have some old fashioned fun. Instead of Snowmobiling, Snowboarding, or anything like that, I pulled Bec on the sled behind the horse. From the look on her face, I could tell it was fun, and I had a lot of fun just pulling her around. My horse Tonka likes to get up and go, so Rebecca was really moving on her sled.
I also pulled her to the top of the interstate and let her sled down it, but she prefered being pulled by tonka and I as it was much faster.

The cold wasn't even felt, cause we were having so much fun.

Can't wait to do it again!!!

Merchant Marine Exam

Last week I flew to Traverse City Michigan to take seven tests in order to complete my training as a merchant marine engineering officer. I attended the Great Lakes Martime Academy in TC for four years and have now acheived my goal which is getting my license to work as a third assistant engineer officer in the engine room of a ship. The training is also very well suited for work on shore. Rebecca was a huge help with my studying and arranging to take the test. I don't know what I would do without her. Although getting my exam results and seeing that I passed felt good, it was nothing like feeling loved by Rebecca.

Cookin' Supper

Over Christmas break, Andrew and I were able to make lots of meals while being snowed in at my parents house...we found a recipe that took a lot of potatoes, carrots and meat. Since we had a decent garden last summer, we have quite a few vegetables that can be used.
Washing and peeling the carrots for the stew
Adding water to the mix
Making an apple dessert
And the finished product....a nice big bowl of stew for the family to eat....

Christmas 2010

Here are a few pictures from Christmas (a week ago...). Since Andrew has been getting ready to take his test in Michigan, we didn't go to Lemmon for the holidays. Some of my siblings were home for the day and we had dinner and gift opening together that day.
Dinner at the Dummanns
My brother Ashley and his two kids: Ethan (12 years)and Kayla (10 years)
After dinner, we had our gift exchange. I got a bathrobe from my parents. Andrew got a shirt from my parents and cologne/shower set from Ashley and his family.
